Dear Blizzard,
Hopefully soon you are going to release Cataclysm. This will be good as it will give us something to do. I am sure that you are going to put off the release with various arenas/battlegrounds/crappy PvE content to keep us occupied because it isn’t ready yet. Seeing that it isn’t ready yet, may I request a few things for the expansion? If you don’t want to put these in I understand perfectly due to the fact that you are all very busy and are a bunch of fucktards. Now that we’ve got off on the right foot, let me make my humble requests;
1. Arenas – these make our lives and yours rather difficult due to balancing issues. I know that if you nuke them altogether then people will say that you failed before and 0.000001% of the player base will be upset, so this obviously isn’t feasible. Could we make some arena-only realms where the laws of physics and magic function somewhat differently there? That could then leave the other realms to be arena free and not have to suffer through all the balancing decisions made as a result of this tedious medium.
2. Outland – Is there any point to this place anymore? It was a rhetorical question. I know that you wish the levelling process to continue through Outland but you have to know that apart from Nagrand, we all fucking hate that place. I’m not saying get rid of it, leave it out there hanging in space like a pair of undies on the washing line that you forgot before going on holiday for three months to India and when you come back you haven’t the heart to touch them again. Just give us a few alternative zones on Azeroth to get from 60-68. I know, make old raid content as a levelling option. AQ40! Yeeeeeaaaaaaahhhh!!!
3. Gnomeragon – Is that how you spell it? Whatever, please make this a city just so that I never have to run this as an instance again. While we’re on the subject I feel that Maraudon and Dire Maul should be turned into something else, such as theme parks or nudist colonies. To be fair, I shouldn’t comment on Dire Maul as I’ve barely done any of it, only due to the fact that I could never find a group to bare going with me at the appropriate level. It’s in my dungeon finder now though, so perhaps I can get back to you on this one.
4. The Weather effects – I like them a lot, please make more of them. How about some high and low tides in different parts of the world? And four seasons, would that be possible? Spring in the desert with flowers everywhere, that would be so lovely …
5. Vanish – Could you … ? Like … fix it?
6. Professions – Do something, anything, please, I like crafting but it is WoW’s weak point. Surely you could make these more interesting and not merely leveling time sinks.
If I think of any more I’ll throw them up. Thank you Blizzard for your oh so valuable time.

I would also like to vote for #5 especially… but yah, not holding my breath

Vanish broken?….I think if it actually worked “as intended” I would have a heart attack. Every fix they “attempt” makes it “to over powered”….sigh at least we don’t have to buy powder for it anymore.

WoW is officially in limbo. Yes I agree.. However the limbo isn’t bad. Alts can gear up for free to be ready to easily become mains when Cat comes out. There’s no rush to shit.. We have ostensibly 1 year before Cat comes out. Tentative date is nov 2010, but we all know blizz watches the market. I highly doubt they will release Cat before Star Wars releases.
1: Arena is the only place where you can find good competetive pvp where things like “the element if surprise” or simple zergs dont decide battles. No one tries to raid with pvp gear, and with new resil changes.. You don’t pvp in pve gear. It’s a seperate and distinct part of WoW. You can continue being a bunny, but since I’m on a fgt RP server, arenas are all I can do. No reason tone taken out.
2: Hellfire is a great zone… And zangsmarsh is about the easiest lvling in the game. Why would u bother to fuck with Outland?? I spend like a total of 3 days between old world and northrend. In fact I get to nagrand, do like 10 quests, and I’m 68 already. Outland is fine.. Really don’t see the need for bitching about sthg that takes up 1% of your playtime.
3: gnomer is retarded.. I agree. Mara and DM were both content patches so they are slightly complex, long, and not seen by most. The fact you don’t know DM shows me you weren’t around when UBRS was THE raid.. And you 5 manned DM all day long bc the drops were so good at 60. your wow experience is limited at best… Meaning your opinion on content you think is pointless has no basis. Also refer back to #2… You spend maybe 1 day at dm or Mara lvl??? And what 8 hours at gnomer lvl. The content remains for the people who like it. For those of you that don’t… Suck it up bc lvling is so fast now you won’t even notice.
4: as for weather.. Pvpers turn it all off for performance. Blizz… Do w/e you want cus the people who don’t want it can turn it off.
5: I do agree with this.
6: the crafting in wow is not a time sink. You don’t know what a time sink is. The crafting in wow is made to facilitate the economy. It is also not a money sink since many crafts actually net you gold while u lvl them. While yes… The crafting system can be spiced up… Maybe crit crafts… Unique drop generated recipes… But all in all there are other more important things to fix. You should really play some other mmo’s to learn what time sink and gold sink crafts are.
My own feelings is that world of Warcraft has lost it’s mmo feel. It’s is now a game where u hang out in cities and just run instances from there. Feels more like diablo online than a persistent world. The overarching theme behind wow is the horde alliance conflict. Yet now that that I’m on a fgt rp server…. There’s no pvp whatsoever. Horde players switch to their alliance toons to dance, socialize, ERP, AH arbitrage, and run instances with their buddies. Wow has gone to shit from the old ways of grand marshalls and High warlords. Cat needs to breathe some life back into the WORLD of Warcraft IMO.

Andrei,
I fail to see why you would want to level alts when the whole point of cataclysm will be the new improved levelling process. Also, Star Wars is not coming out before mid 2011.
I wasn’t talking about gear differences between pvp or pve, I was talking about nerfs to abiltites due to pvp problems that effect pve.
Hellfire is awful.
You’re right, I’ve only been playing wow for 3 weeks, you caught me out.
I suppose a good example of crafting would be Everquest 2.
I agree with your summation, wow has turned into standing around cities waiting to run instances, but it’s been that way for a long time. Why not transfer to an RP-PvP server? I don’t understand why you’re there.

I lol’d nice list although I’ll disagree with point 2. I kind of like Outlands for the slight change of pace and of course it brought us the coolest flying mounts (imo) the Netherdrakes. Zangarmarsh, Nagrand are both still up there in my favourites zones.
Im hoping that andreis prediction on cataclysm is about as sensible as the rest of his post….. I really cant see past a summer release from blizzard. They NEED cataclysm and fast.
Anyway I’ve added you to my google reader as I’ll be heading back to being a rogue as my main when Cata launches.
Worgen Rogue?! Hell yes!

Hey Pitrelli,
Yeah, it’s strange that just after Ice crown being fully opened that WoW needs a shot in the arm, but it feels like it does. And hopefully us rogue bloggers will have a bit more to write about soon, as it’s pretty dry on the old rogue front.

Ahhh now I see your point. And yes that is something that will never be solved IMO. WOW is a game who’s theme revolves around the idea of pvp. The focus unfortunately in the actual game is not however. They can’t take pvp out.. And if when people do pvp, there’s always the same class winning bc of certain key abilities.. Then pvp becomes pointless. Pve is against AI… All I can say is that unless the pve nerfs make it impossible to do the raid, just suck it up.
As fir release date.. Pretty sure blizzard announced a tentative date of November. They never make their first estimates. People won’t leave wow bc there is nothing else. New games create hype.. Bring in new players. Expansions scare away new players. Blizz likes to time their expansion releases with those of big new games. That bodes not so well I guess with you all that are bored. The fact is tho. Unless u have icc 25 Hard Mide on farm.. There’s still plenty left for u to do

What they need to do is make different values for both PvE and PvP instead of making changes across the board which in turn has in impact on PvE players.
Think if they incorporated seperate talent trees for PvP and even when ‘zoned’ into Arenas etc your skills etc had different hit values etc. The way blizzard are trying to tackle it will just never work. You cannot and will not balance classes if you take into account PvE and PvP, when one is balanced it will knock the other end of the spectrum and cause imbalance.
